My best friend.
Friday, November 30, 2012 § 0
So tomorrow will be a day filled with snow tubing and fun galore, and that's because it's my older sister's 22nd birthday!!
That's her!!!
She's accomplished so much in the past few years and I will never stop looking to her as an inspiration. Here, look at this photo from her tumblr page lowcaloriemolly.tumblr.com: and you'll see what I mean:
My sister has lost over 60 pounds using nothing but sheer will power. She is the strongest person I know- you guys don't know hard until you start trying to lose weight- but she's strong in other ways too.
She's smart, and her determination led her to get an amazing job right out of college at an awesome insurance firm.
She's not afraid to take risks with fashion and show the world who she is.
She's far more spontaneous than I am- she just wants to make the world around her as fun and interesting as possible instead of accepting it for how boring and mundane it is.
Basically, she's my best friend, my biggest inspiration, by big sister. I LOVE YOU AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
The Weekend Update.
Tuesday, September 4, 2012 § 0
This weekend was...a weekend. My grandfather came over (the one that yelled at me on mother's day) and I had a good time attempting to be nice to him despite the fact that I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm the devil's spawn. Families suck sometimes, am I right?
And then my sister, my mother and I all went to Estes Park yesterday to get some distance from Sir Shouts-a-lot and we had an amazing time (even though I was being kind of a poopy head at the beginning of the day since my sister stole my shoes...obviously, I am very passionate about footwear. Haha.)
It was one of those weekends where you're handed a bad situation and you make the best of it, and it actually turns out really great. This weekend was really great. Pointless post over :)
Toodles,
Madi

Random.

Today is a random post of randomness. This is my life now.
It's so weird having summer already...I forget that all the high schoolers are still in school and just assume that everyone is off when I am. I should most likely get a summer job soon but right now it's so busy with my sister here and my parents moving into the new house. We're a mess.
Speaking of my sister, it's so nice to have her here. After all, I spent over two months without her and now it's a nonstop hangout sesh. Everything is so different in her life and it's weird that everything is changing so fast, but I just have to learn to roll with the punches.
We tried a peel-off mask tonight and it is a bit uncomfortable:

Don't worry, our skin is not that oily. That's the mask....that is still on my face. I should do something about that.

Miss Molly Style.
Tuesday, March 6, 2012 § 0
So you should all go check out my sister's style blog, Miss Molly Style. Not only is she a fashion genius, but I made a guest appearance this week as her stylish sister. Hooray for nepotism!
To see the rest of the outfit, click on the link to my sister's blog above.
As for me, I'm going to go crawl in a hole (my dorm) and finish this torture (all the fracking homework I have this week) so I can be stress-free as soon as possible.
So long,
Cooper
Sister.

Let me tell you something about my sister- she ALWAYS makes things better.
I had a weird afternoon, so I called her just to talk about it...and let me tell you, this girl could talk you out of depression. She knew exactly what to say, and it made me tear up a little bit because I realized that she is honestly my best friend in the whole, entire world.
I miss her so much, but at least I'll get to see her in about three weeks. She may annoy the crap out of me sometimes (just like I annoy her) but we'll always be sisters and she'll always, always be my other half.
So long, Texas.

So, after a long, long (long) decision process, my parents have finally decided to move to Colorado. There's a company down here that my dad really likes, plus, they've always wanted to experience a climate that's better than the hot, humid, stifling air of Texas. I haven't told nearly anyone...we weren't 100% positive that the move was actually going to happen and we didn't want to get our hopes up.
I'm so excited. First of all, this means that they'll be living less than an hour away from where I go to school. There's the possibility of me paying in-state tuition after a while, and I won't have to wait until breaks from school to go down and visit (and I won't have to fly anymore, blech). I finally get to ease their stress a little and help them with the moving process, because I haven't been able to do a lot with them still in Texas.
Then, there's the downside. My sister is still going to be living in Texas, so I still won't get to see her very often. I have a lot of friends I'll be leaving behind in Texas, too (Shannon, Brownie, Jacob, Maggie, Bri, and the gang, I miss you all!), and I don't know when the next time is that I'll be down there to say goodbye. Plus, I may not even be able to say my final goodbyes to the house I spent eight years doing a lot of growing up in, and that's a total bummer, too.
Whatever happens, I've got to remember that change is good and if friends are true, they'll stick with you (I should write Hallmark cards, am I right? Just kidding). This is going to be exciting and different and I can't wait for my parents to come here and finally feel settled and happy, and to feel like this is where they belong.
Plus, I really miss my mom's home cooked meals. Just saying.
Au revoir,
Cooper
Hot cocoa and Branson, Missouri.
Tuesday, January 10, 2012 § 0
Well, I just made myself a cup of delicious hot cocoa in our hotel room- which is GAWGEOUS. My dad's friend has a timeshare out here on this resort and so we got to stay in this adorable room. Our room is like a little apartment- next to my sister and I's bed is a mini-kitchen, and, one of the best parts, a TV fully equipped with 4 HBO channels. I swear, I'm in heaven.
This place is so adorable, too- it's decorated like a country cottage. Can you see the deer's head behind me? (Ok, I do admit, all the deer heads around here freak me out a little. They're just....looking at me....)
But all in all, this place is great. Yesterday, we spent the day on a boat:
(actually they call it the Party Barge, HEY-OH!)
So we're obviously having a great time.
Well, until tomorrow! Hope you all are having a fantastic new year.
Cooper
(P.S.: who new Arkansas was so hella beautiful?)
AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Sunday, January 1, 2012 § 0
I'm finally all caught up with my events! New Year's was last night (and an auld lang syne to you too, if that makes any sense), and here's what I decided to wear:
And voila! A look complete for a wonderful new year's.
HAPPY 2012!
Christmas, Christmas...
I know that it's passed already, but why not reverse the end-of-holidays gloom by providing you with some crazy pictures of my family on Christmas Eve and morn?
This is a game my Grandma has....it was actually pretty hilarious.
Cheesecake. Yum.
Is it a spoon, though? Is it???
Yep. I get stuck with all the paper.
My dad preparing for the Polar Bear Plunge...
Yep. It's damn freezing outside, too.
And I said I would do it next year. What is wrong with me??
Merry Christmas!
Stop taking pictures and get down to business.
My family really loves this movie...
Really...really loves it....
IT'S A GREAT MOVIE OKAY
Flannel buddies!
And cowboy boots to complete the look. Now I'm a legit Texan!
Happy (late) Holidays :)
Happy Birthday.

To my wonderful, beautiful, smart, hilarious big sister; my best friend for 18 years.
You are 21 now so enjoy your newfound freedom (with the alcoholz) and never forget how beautiful and amazing you are. I LOVES YOU OKAY?
Happy 21st.
Apologies, blogosphere.

I've been home all week and, surprisingly, hardly touched my computer. Then we went to the farm, where there was no internet service.....
I'm actually not even sorry because if you were away from a family like mine for three months, all you would want to do is be around them!! It was such a good week and it was hard to see it come to a close, but if there's one thing I like about living in Colorado, it's the fact that I appreciate my family's company a whole lot more.
There were a whole lot of changes when I got home...one of them is that my sister has lost a TON of weight and looks like a rock star:
The other one is two new gorgeous puppies that are so adorable.
Sadie:
Scarlett:
(She's guarding our steaks. Such a good puppy.)
So, lots of changes, but good changes! My next trip back home is in three weeks, and I'll be driving 14 hours with a friend of mine...it'll be my first road trip without my family. So strange, a little bit excited, please pray that nothing goes wrong (although it might be inevitable, haha)
Arrivederci!
My sister is great.

Everybody please watch my sister be adorable and teach people how to be gorgeous. She's so great, and so is her vlog. SO FOLLOW IT OKAY?
Speaking of vlogs, remember my last post? When I mentioned that the Freshman blog advisor was going to meet with me to see if I wanted to do my vlog regularly?
Well, on Friday he took me and the Collegian's blogs editor out for pizza and they talked to me about making this vlog weekly and eventually doing other topics besides dorm life. Basically, I might get my own, seperate, Collegian vlog.
I am so excited- I can't believe they liked my videos that much and it means so much to me that they'd actually like to work with me on this.
It's surreal, and it's great, and I just can't believe it's all happening so fast. I love CSU, and I love this September, and I love Fall. I love, love, love.
Next week, my mom's coming in from Texas and I'll be sure to take tons of pictures of our tons-o-fun girl's weekend together. I absolutely cannot wait to see her. It's been a month!!! That's crazy!!!
Until later,
Cooper
Another shot.

Dear Downton Abbey,
I watched you once and got super bored. However, on Tumblr, you are extremely popular and are apparently a show with tons of epic romances and fantastic actors and actresses. Therefore, my sister and I have decided to give you another shot.

I will be starting you tonight and I hope that you do not disappoint.

i'm terrified......
Saturday, August 13, 2011 § 2
of leaving these people behind for months. HOW ON EARTH will I survive?
Haha, dramatic me. But I'm still scared! I know that this is a new chapter of my life and I need to look at the positives, but as tomorrow is my last day, I can't help but be nervous about every little thing.
TERRIFIED. But it's going to be a good thing, I know it!
Busy last week.
The muffler fell off of my car, a la Will Shuester from Glee. As I was driving home, I heard a pop and a terrible grating sound, but I was so close to home that I puttered to the driveway and voila: my muffler was swingin' low. My poor Volvo.
I cleared out my closet. This is the before....
And this is the after! I know, I'm proud of me, too.
We turned Molly's room from this....
To this lovely shade of pale pink.
I had my fun before we painted over it.
We found a hummingbird's nest in our front yard. It was pretty magical.
That's the end of my eventful week. That's summer for ya.
Till later,
Cooper
