So I Watched This Tonight.

Sunday, May 29, 2011 § 0

And you know what? It was pretty great.  I've never thought that Jason Bateman was cute, but my opinion about that pretty much turned right around after seeing him in his adorable flannel shirts and cargo jackets.  Jennifer Aniston was gorgeous, and a pretty great mother.  The best part was probably the kid, though- he was strange and neurotic and smart and cute and I hope that if I ever have a kid, he's exactly like him.

If you want a fun, sentimental comedy, then grab this movie- it's sweet.

Tomorrow's my family party with my cousins to celebrate my 18th and graduation, so I'll update on that tomorrow.

Till then,

A Very Medieval Birthday.

Saturday, May 28, 2011 § 0

Tonight we went to Medieval Times to celebrate my 18th birthday with my family and my best friend (but she counts as family).  We had an amazing time!  I think the highlights included Shannon getting checked out by this creepy dude that sat next to her (thus forcing us to move, because of his creepiness), my frenzied waving at the sexy, sexy Green Knight and his consequent smiling and sticking out his tongue at me, and Shannon catching the yellow carnation from our Orlando Bloom look-a-like knight.

Oh, what a night!!

She's just too excited for words.

Shannon caught the flower!

Thank ya, Medieval Times!

Hope you all have a lovely long weekend.  I'll be sure to upload some birthday pictures soon!

Until then,
Cooper

It was my birthday.

Friday, May 27, 2011 § 0

On Tuesday! And it was splendid, indeed.  After a lovely breakfast and stimulating day at school, my parents treated me to Genghis Grill (my fave restaurant) and we opened presents.

And look at my loot!

And that was just from my sister! I also got my very own GPS (for when I get lost in Colorado), a necklace, and charms for my charm bracelet.  However, the BEST part of it all was learning that my sister and my mom had made me a batch of wonderfully delicious red velvet cupcakes with pink cream cheese icing on top.  So delish.

Tomorrow we'll be celebrating even more by heading to Medieval Times and witnessing some wonderful folks ride some horses and toss flowers and all that.  My goal: CATCH A FLOWER.

Until tomorrow,
Cooper

Header/Blog Maintenance.

Saturday, May 21, 2011 § 0

Sorry for my blank-looking blog.  My sis is working on fixing my header and then it'll be back, looking better than ever :)

Thanks for the patience!

I really love this dress.

(Sorry for the terrible quality of the photo)
I wore this to my sister's roomate's bridal shower today, and was reminded of how much I love it. It's bright, it's flowy, and it makes me feel like Ginger Rodgers...although I'm not sure she'd wear polka dots. Oh, well. I bet Fred Astaire would still dance with me.
Dress is from JC Penney!

A Night at the Drive-In.

Friday, May 20, 2011 § 0

Sorry for the poor quality of the pic, but my camera is broken so I used my phone.  But look at how cute we look, just hanging out at the drive-in!

For my birthday celebration, my friends and I decided to drive out to Granbury, a cute little town an hour away, and celebrate at a drive-in theater.  My friend brought his dad's truck and the rest of us supplied the blankets and snacks, and we were all set for a marvelous time.

We killed time before the movie playing tag with little kids in the grassy area in front of the screen, and I realized just how out of shape I am.  But I also realized how EASY it is to have fun with people you love :)

We saw Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides, which I thought was great!  It wasn't as mysterious or deep as the other ones have been, but it was a fun movie with a cute side romance and I just really liked it.  It was perfect for a drive-in movie.

I think this is probably one of my favorite ever birthday celebrations.  I had an amazing time.  It's sad that drive-ins are dying out, because they involve dangerous amounts of joy.

Nighty night,

Pajama Road Trip.

Monday, May 16, 2011 § 1

I had the best night.  Molly made me Spaghetti Carbonara for dinner, and then, without putting on shoes or normal clothes (but what's normal, really?), we drove to Sonic for some ice cream.  PAJAMA ROAD TRIP.

Pajama Road Trip from Madison Scruggs on Vimeo.

Then, we watched Gossip Girl and despaired at how the Dan/Blair storyline has fallen by the wayside.  However, I do love Serena's ending...but I won't give anything away.

Have a lovely evening,
Cooper

I AM NOT PRINCESS LEIA. ALSO NOT FROM GERMANY.

Can I just express my undying love for this hairstyle?  I love it so much.  It's out of your face, you look totally cute, and when you take it out, it's all wavy and cute.  Oh, also, when you lean your head back in the movie theater or something, there's no obnoxious bun stub buggin' you.  I just thought that was an important factor.

How did I do this, you ask?  With the help of Totally Tessa's blog, which led me to this website:

I didn't do the whole braid-crown thing like she did though, but it's kind of the same concept.  You just braid your hair into two braids, flip them up onto or near your hairline, and pin those suckers down.

Et voila! A perfect maiden braid.  Beware: you are liable to be called Princess Leia and German Beer Girl when wearing this hairstyle.  But hey- Princess Leia snags adorable Han Solo and I'm pretty sure being attractive is in the beer girls' contract.
